Corporate training courses at Peterborough City Council:

Peterborough City Council employees can access the corporate training programme, using the booking system, and digital learning platform, Local Government Shared Services (LGSS) iLearn.

LGSS iLearn is a web-based platform, accessible to all staff, on any device, for managing the Corporate Training Programme.

The programme has been developed as part of our close working with Cambridgeshire County Council, and provides opportunities to network across organisations and supports our new agile way of working, whilst achieving economies of scale.

What is available on iLearn?

1. Face-to-face Corporate Training Courses, PCC's Corporate Training Programme
This is aimed at:
  • All staff: Topics include Customer Experience, Stress Management and Problem-solving and Decision Making.
  • Managers: Topics include Essential Skills for Aspiring and New Managers, Coaching Skills and Situational Leadership.
Some courses are located at Peterborough venues, specifically for Council employees. You will also have access to specific courses on the LGSS Open Programme, which are open to individuals from other councils and/or organisations.

2. Online learning

Access a wealth of online learning opportunities including:
  • Continuous Personal Development

How do I book onto a course?

Log onto the self-service platform at, using your email address as your username.

To access available courses, once you have logged in, click on the PCC Content icon, to search for and select the relevant training. You should then be able to follow the on screen instructions to book.

On booking, you will be asked to enter your team/service cost centre number, but this will only be used for non-attendance or late cancellations, as listed in Terms and Conditions. Please familiarise yourself with these.

Once booked onto a course, you will be sent a confirmation email containing joining instructions, please read all details carefully.

If the course is full, you can register an expression of interest to be notified if places become available or new course dates added.

New to iLearn?

If you are new to the Council, or don't have an iLearn account, self-register here, by following the prompts on screen.

Your email address will be your username. You will receive a confirmation email when your account has been activated. Once logged in, you can access the short Virtual Tour and Getting Started video guides to familiarise yourself with the system.


Attendance on these courses is centrally funded by Peterborough City Council Workforce Development, so will be of no cost to your service.

However, as previously mentioned, charges are made for non-attendance or late cancellations, so please see the Cancellations section below.


It is acknowledged that there are times when cancellations or non-attendance cannot be avoided, however, please be aware that this may incur a charge to the council and should be discouraged. If you wish to cancel your place on a course you can do this yourself up to 15 working days before the course.

To cancel, log into iLearn, click on the My Learning button, and then select My Bookings. This will give you a list of all your bookings, from which you can select the session you wish to cancel.

If you would like to cancel and it falls within 15 working days you will need to email to process your request.
